History: The Siberian Husky was developed as a sled dog in northeaster Asia and has developed strong endurance features from there. When these dogs were brought to a competition in Alaska, their superior pulling ability and endurance traits made them quite a reputation. Since the All-Alaska Sweepstakes in 1909, these dogs have been a part of Northern racing
Characteristics: A medium sized working dog with a compact and well furred body. The head has erect ears, and sports a brush tail. They were bred for pulling loads in harness and their effortless strides show this heritage easily. A true sled dog, adapted to cooler climates.
Temperament: The Siberian husky is a predator, it will hunt all sorts of small animals that may be found in its territory, squirrels and rabbits outside the home, but also small animals that may be kept as pets inside it. Cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc. will all be hunted if they are available. They are a true pack animal and will respond as such when given the opportunity
Space requirements: Siberian Huskies require plenty of room to run, and will run whenever they are given a chance. They are energetic and require a suitable amount of daily exercise to stay in shape.
