History: The cockers originated as a working dog used to flush game so that hunters could have a shot at it as the birds broke cover. Cockers are the smallest of the land spaniels and are known by their exaggerated drooping ears. There are two versions of Cockers, the American and the English. The English Cocker is still used frequently in game hunting and is often a larger dog than the American Cocker
